JACK
A Heeler-Shepherd mix, Jack was abandoned at the church on the hill, alone and unsure what came next. Jack is the dog who didn’t know how to be a dog; he had no idea how to play, how to trust, or how to just be Jack.
So, he watched Chico. And he learned.
If Chico thought it was time for a nap, Jack curled up too. If Chico decided it was time to inspect the yard for squirrels, Jack was right behind him. He figured that whatever worked for Chico - the 2 star vet - it would work for him too.
And he was right.
Today, Jack is a frisbee chasing, nap taking, cookie snatching happy dog. He keeps a watchful eye on his little buddy and is ready to tear across the yard in hot pursuit of any critter that dares wander through.
CHICO
Chico “Baby Dog” isn’t just a survivor - he’s the architect of the mission. A rat terrier-chihuahua mix with two shelter tours behind him, Chico earned both of his stars through sheer determination (and a little bit of attitude).
Fiercely loyal to exactly one human - his mom - Chico has a long and distinguished resume. He’s a published author of The Doggy Constitution, a definitive work outlining the inalienable right to naps, cookies, and what it means to be a dog.
When he’s off duty, Chico is singularly dedicated to his greatest passion: playing ball. He will chase it, retrieve it, and demand you throw it again - forever.
A scholar, sentinel, and certified cookie snob, Chico still finds time to support other rescue pups - so long as they leave him alone. And when he is not patrolling the yard for rogue squirrels and birds, he can be found curled up in the sun next to Mom.
Rescued. Regal. Unapologetically himself, Chico “Baby Dog” proves every day that survival is an art - and a good game of fetch can solve almost anything.
